The purpose of the association is to:


bullet develop and establish standards of performance and integrity for internal affair's investigators
bullet provide training to bring about professional growth and development
bullet present a forum for discussion of common problems and court decisions
bullet gather and disseminate information regarding improved administrative and technical practices
bullet assist law enforcement cooperation and exchange information and experiences among internal affairs investigators through the State of Georgia
bullet help Georgia law enforcement credibility and integrity second to no other
